To clear the AutoComplete data for Internet Explorer 5.0!: When typing information in Web forms, and typing passwords, you can remove any line from AutoComplete's list of suggestions by clicking the item and pressing the Delete key. To clear the AutoComplete list entirely, run IE 5.0, select Internet Options from the Tools menu. Choose the Content tab. Click the AutoComplete button. You now have at your fingertips the full set of controls that that lets you wipe out all AutoComplete data, both straight text entries and passwords. You can also control what, if any, user-entered data gets saved in future.

Signing Your E-Mail: In Outlook Express select Tools/Stationary, go to mail tab and click Signature button. For text select Text radio button and type your signature.

Internet Explorer: Sometimes you click on a link on the web you want to follow, but the site insists on keeping you in a frame. Drag the link up to the address bar where you usually type in URLs and let it go. It will appear as a regular address that you can follow.

Purge Browser Cache: Launch your browser and purge its browser cache. To do this in Navigator, choose Edit/Preferences; click on Advanced and then Cache. You'll find two buttons for clearing memory and disk cache. It's a bit more complicated in IE - the procedure varies for different versions. Find the Internet Options item on either your Tools or View menus. Click on the Delete Files button in the temporary Internet Files area. Delete the animated Help files, which are the AVI files in the C:\WINDOWS\HELP folder.

Word 97

  1. AutoCorrect for shorthand: Instead of typing something like Microsoft Office 97 you could just type "mo" and have the Microsoft Office 97 happen automatically. Select Tools-AutoCorrect-AutoCorrect Tab, in the Replace box type in "mo" and in the With box type Microsoft Office 97, select Add and select Close.
  2. Create a Line Across the page: Type This and Press Enter

    Three underscore signs (_) Three asterisks (*) Three Tildes (~)
  4. Dollar signs but no Cents: Hold down Ctrl+/+c to get ˘.

  7. Pinball Wizard: Open a new document, type the word Blue in the default type available, highlight the word and click on the Format menu and the Font command. In the dialogue box that appears select Bold as the font style and Blue as the color, then click OK. With the cursor right after the "e" in "Blue" hit the spacebar, then go to the Help Menu and About Microsoft Word. Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys and click on the Word logo in the upper left. And there you go a pinball game… use Z and M keys to play, Esc to exit.

Excel

Hidden Flight Simulator: Open a new sheet, press f5, type X97:L97 in the box that appears, press OK, press Tab, now press at the same time Ctrl+Shift and right click the chart wizard icon (at top with three colored bars-blue, red, yellow). Now wait… you will see the names of the developers and then a flight simulator- use your mouse.
